idiForest

The idiForest event, organised by the Cesefor Foundation through the SustForest Plus and INCREDIBLE projects, was scheduled to be held in May but was postponed due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19. Now the time has come to resume it but in an online format for the maximum protection of its participants through the Zoom platform and other shared work tools. It will take place from 6 to 9 October inclusive and aims to boost the competitiveness, sustainability and social impact of the resource and other non-timber forest products through the use of ICT and emerging technologies, stimulate the transfer and sharing of knowledge of the use of emerging technologies that can radically improve productivity, sustainability, supply capacity, profit and social impact; create effective links between entrepreneurs in the field of NTFPs, technologists and potential investors and facilitate the development of viable innovation projects.

It is organised by the Cesefor Foundation, through the SustForest Plus and INCREDIBLE projects, and has the collaboration of the Institute for Business Competitiveness (ICE), the Regional Government of Castilla y León and the Science Park of the University of Valladolid.

It is aimed at forestry entrepreneurs, technology companies, forestry companies, forest workers, entrepreneurs, academics, students and investors.

idiForest is a highly valuable initiative for the sector and we invite you to get to know it first hand. It is open and participative to all those professionals and non-professionals interested in the resin sector and other non-timber forest products.

Why should you participate?

  • Powerful contacts. At the event you will meet and work closely with other professionals in the sector with whom you will be able to create very interesting synergies for growth.
  • Methodology. We will learn prototyping and business model development methodologies to be able to launch and test the viability of all your ideas.
  • Inspiration. A group of people like you, with the same concerns and the same objectives, who come together to create opportunities and innovative projects.
  • Visibility. If you are looking to make your idea or project visible, if you want to make yourself known as a professional, if you would like to present your great idea to the world, you can't miss it!
  • Mentors. Professionals with experience in the forestry sector and in entrepreneurship will help you focus on what is really important to make your ideas and projects viable.
  • Awards and prizes. A jury will determine the best ideas, which will receive prizes and in-kind recognition to support them to develop further.

Frequently asked questions:

  • Can I participate without having ideas? Of course you can, and when forming working groups it will be very important for you to participate in order to advance the ideas that we choose among all the people.
  • How developed should my idea or project be? Nothing developed or already working, what we are interested in is launching new innovative ideas or promoting those that are already underway.
  • Can I attend only part of the event? Yes, but no. The idea is that you can attend the whole event because it is a continuous dynamic with certain steps. If you can only attend at some point we will try to integrate you in the best way, but it is not the most advisable for you or for the rest of the participants you will be helping.
  • Will the whole event be online? Yes, the whole event will be developed through the Zoom platform and other shared work tools that we will explain on the first day of the event. You don't need to travel anywhere, just have a good internet connection.

Attendance of the event is by registration, the link to which you will find at the bottom of the page.
